Social media is constantly changing and to help you stay on top of your game, here are the latest updates from Instagram, Tiktok and more!
We mentioned that Tiktok was experimenting with a photo-only app a few weeks back, but now it’s actually live!
“TikTok Notes” is a separate photo-sharing app that allows users in Australia and Canada to share photos to a Pinterest-esque feed. At the moment, a lot of the content is populated from the main TikTok video app, but we expect that as the popularity grows, the quality of the content on that platform will also increase.
Whether or not it actually proves to be a competitor to Instagram remains to be seen, but for the time being, it might be worth experimenting with!
Instagram has been investing in the creator economy since 2022 and has recently amped up efforts with additional functions including subscriber sticker analytics and screenshot/screen recording protection. It’s exciting to see that they continue to develop in this direction, and if you’re a nonprofit organization or educational entity, subscriptions may be worth considering as a business funnel.
TikTok Shop has been wildly successful and many social media platforms are doing their best to replicate it. YouTube’s in-stream shopping tools hope to drive more product discovery and purchase activity in the app. This function also inspires an additional revenue source for creators who are invested in selling products.
